Webcast Summary

How do today’s finance chiefs manage and leverage their organizations' data resources? According to the findings of CFO magazine's latest survey, which gathered perspectives from more than 200 senior finance executives, nearly half of respondents report that their finance teams set the analytics agendas for their organizations. Yet nearly half of survey participants admit their organizations do not consider their analytical endeavors to be highly effective.

Among the primary obstacles to effective analytics respondents cite are insufficient technology, talent, and time. Even within organizations where analytics are available, survey participants observe that their colleagues don't always know how to make sense of the information they have. As one respondent puts it, the "major challenge is cultural," that is, when "data analytics suggest different findings to the commonly held views."

During this Webcast, we will reveal the results of the survey, as well as the implications of the findings, which include:
  • Why finance teams are taking responsibility for managing analytics throughout their organizations;
  • How CFOs can assess and develop analytical skills among the finance teams they lead; and
  • How finance teams can improve their effectiveness in translating analytics into information organizations can use to support strategic decisions.
